Garden – Wastewater Synergy. Collaboration Tectum – CETAQUA

It is a public-private innovation initiative that aims to contribute to the circular economy in the metropolitan area of Barcelona, “giving water a second life and thus combating water scarcity”.

The goal is to use reclaimed water for hydroponic agriculture, which grows plants using mineral substrates instead of agricultural soil, which saves water and fertilizers and gives high-quality crops by controlling nutrient doses.

These types of crops can be developed in unfavorable conditions, such as cities (with little water and space), which is “a big advantage over conventional irrigation agriculture”.
